The European Federation of National Associations of Orthopaedics and Traumatology (EFORT) is the platform organisation linking Europe‘s national orthopaedic associations. Its aims reflect the will of all the participating associations to promote the exchange of scientific knowledge and experience in the field of prevention and both the conservative and surgical treatment of diseases and injuries concerning the musculo-skeletal system. To this end, particular emphasis is placed upon activities focusing on education and research.

EFORT was established by the national associations for orthopaedics and traumatology from twenty European countries. The Federation was founded in Marentino, Italy, in 1991, and today has 41 national member societies from 39 member countries, as well as 13 associate scientific members.

EFORT today also promotes collaboration with the European Specialty Societies and has established close links to International Societies.

In terms of its legal structure, EFORT was established as a non-profit organisation and all funds are used exclusively in the pursuit of the Federation‘s aims.

Asia pacific Foot & Ankle Council is a section of the Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association (APOA), an association comprising twenty-four orthopaedic member associations from Asia Pacific countries. Foot & Ankle Council was established in 2016 to disseminate knowledge and current practices of Foot and Ankle surgery, foster partnerships and contacts with societies and surgeons, encourage research, and promote the exchange of ideas within the Asia Pacific Region.

Founded on 31 May 2020, APH&ULS was established with a clear vision to advance education and foster meaningful collaboration in the field of hand and upper limb surgery. As a growing community of dedicated professionals, the Society brings together expertise from across the region, creating opportunities to share knowledge, exchange ideas, and elevate standards of care.

APHS brings together passionate and dedicated hip surgeons from across the Asia Pacific region, united by a shared commitment to excellence in patient care and surgical practice. More than just a professional network, APHS is a platform for connection, collaboration, and continuous growth.

Asia Pacific Knee Society (APKS) was founded by Emeritus Professor Tomihisa Koshino, Yokohama City University in 2000, in pursuit of furthering scientific achievement and techniques in knee surgery into the 21st Century.

The Asia Pacific Osteoporosis and Fragility Fracture Society (APOFFS) was established in August 2021 as a dedicated section within the Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association (APOA). As a specialized society, APOFFS is committed to promoting awareness, education, and research on osteoporosis and fragility fractures among orthopaedic professionals and healthcare practitioners throughout the Asia-Pacific region.

The Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Research Society (APORS) was established in 2017 as a professional scientific organization dedicated to advancing orthopaedic research across the Asia Pacific region.

Recognizing that many countries in the region face limitations in participating in high-level orthopaedic research due to constraints in funding, expertise, and infrastructure. APORS was formed under the leadership of the Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association (APOA) to address these gaps.

APORS is committed to strengthening research capacity, increasing awareness of the value of orthopaedic research, and ultimately improving patient outcomes and public health across the region.

The APSS Limited, also known as the Spine Section of the APOA, is an educational and scientific forum for the advancement of knowledge in the field of spine surgery, for the education of the patients, the clinicians and the researchers. Our mission is to advance the science, art and practice of spine surgery and promulgate the maintenance of professional standards in order to provide the best professional care to patients with spinal problems.

WAVES is a Section of the Asia Pacific Orthopaedic Association (APOA), established in 2021 to support and advocate for women in orthopaedics.

We bring together female orthopaedic surgeons, trainees, and male champions of change to build a more diverse, inclusive, and supportive orthopaedic community across the Asia Pacific region.
